making your own iphone case

comment /// 0 comments

don't rain on my parade if this has been done a million times before, because i thought i was a genius the day i figured this out! [i refuse to pinterest it]

i spent [wasted] hours and hours on the www trying to find the perfect iphone case all the while muttering under my breath over the price. i just spent --- on the phone itself and now a silly case is -- !!! and then it hit me, MAKE YOUR OWN! is this post acquiring too many !!!!! ?

i then spent some more time on the www to find the cheapest clear case possible. i think i did. so what if it took like 15 days to get here....thank you china.

so here ya go, my detailed pictures [way more detailed than you even need i know] of the way i made my own patterned iphone case.

i'm pretty happy with the fact that i have endless possibilities for a mere $1.17.

we're really excited to share our newest project with you—a typography app for typography lovers. it's called Typeset. Typeset is an app designed for the iPad that automatically pairs 25 of the most popular fonts with their best matches. we worked really hard on the design of Typeset, but we still need the help of the funding platform Kickstarter to get it developed. so, without further ado, our kickstarter page. check it out won't you?

Blog Shop & Swap

comment /// 1 comments
as you may have learned by now, i am somewhat of a minimalist. i probably don't really compare to the true minimalist but i believe in ridding your life of things you don't use/need. i've had quite the minimalist itch this summer as i've gazed in my clothes closet and the solution is this...

what//
blog shop & swap. a sale or swap of your lightly used clothing, accessories, and/or small homegoods.

the details//
1. take 1-2 pictures of every item you would like to sell or swap.
2. create a blog post with said pictures, a small description [what it is, size, true fit, true color, how worn], your asking price [are you negotiable?] + shipping price, and method of payment [ie. paypal].
3. include either SALE ONLY or SALE + SWAP at the top of your post. this will indicate whether you are up for a swap opposed to sale only. if you do desire to swap, when someone inquires about one of your items, they will send you a link to their shop/swap blog post in which you can browse and see if their is anything you would like to swap for [each pay appropriate shipping.]

resources//
their are 2 easy ways to accept or request payment online via paypal and the best part is that your buyer does not have to be a paypal member to pay you.
1. click here to create a paypal button for direct payment from your site.
or
2. simply email your buyer a paypal invoice.

process//
the typical process will go like this.
jane browses my site and chooses a skirt that she would like to buy. she either clicks my direct payment button to purchase that particular item or if no direct payment button, she emails with her request [first come first serve] in which i would then email her the paypal invoice. all shipping information is included in the returned invoice.
items ship out that week!

promotion//
as the host of this shop/swap, we will post all links to participating blogs on our blog *twigcreative.blogspot.com. persons will then have the opportunity to browse the entirety of the online shop/swap. create your blog post beforehand and email to hello@twigcreative.com no later than monday july 9th, 2:00 pm mst.

if i've forgotten anything or you have any questions, feel free to email!

Fine Grain // minimialist iPad cases

comment /// 2 comments

i was browsing my usual facebook feed yesterday to find an eye catching post from a friend from college. he has started a kickstarter project for products perfectly named BOWDEN + SHEFFIELD. levi and eric, the owners of fine grain have created beautiful + functional products because of a need they saw in their own college going--iPad using--bike riding lifestyle. this is exactly what gets steve and i stoked about the art of creation. we see a need or even better, a plain old invention that needs not only function but also beauty, and we go for it. i browsed their kickstarter page and was greatly impressed but the thing that blew me away was the video. watch the video! every inch of this project was thought about + detailed with good design in mind. we're supporters of the well done, are you? go check it out.

if you live in utah and haven't been to creative collaborative, you are missing out. don't worry, i missed out for a long time too simply because i just didn't make the drive + babysitting happen but once i heard that colton from communal and shelby from soel boutique (power siblings, did you know?) were speaking, i determined to go.

it was a night of expecting to be surrounded by people i knew but was pleasantly surprised by the new crowd of creatives + pure inspiration + open questions and real answers + networking + plain old getting to know cool people.

visit the website here and determine to come to the next one too.

I was searching in my pinterest for a party idea and came across a couple of wrapping ideas.  They were so fabulous, my search turned into a much too lengthy browsing of beautiful ideas such as these.

The great thing about kid products is that they are most often colorful & eye catching.  Sometimes I want to buy kid products for myself. Agree?

Home is Work, Work is Home

Today we visited our dream home; quiet neighborhood, house surrounded by land + trees, studio work space in back garage, kid toys mingling with craft/work tools, and a place where you can leave work a.k.a. your garage to go have some lunch in your own house with your own family.  Perfection to us.  Apparently to a few others as well.
